You’re not the only copywriter around – so why choose you?

There are many great copywriters about who have years of agency experience. What I offer over them is a practical background in business. It allows me to see the wider, long term picture.

Plus to create meaningful copy, I need to empathise with the challenges and ambitions you have as a company.

Online business doesn’t change the rules of business – it simply uses a new media to achieve the results.

What are your rates?

As a guide, my standard copywriting rate is €30 per hour or €200 per day.

However, I prefer to price per project as some projects can be incredibly complex and require a great deal of research & planning, while other projects are smaller, with more obvious solutions that take less time.

The best thing to do is call me so that we can talk through your requirements and I can give you a full quotation.

I have a project I’d like you to work on – what information do you need?

The more information you can give me, the better. Any past advertising, mandatory inclusions, your company objectives, the ethos of your business, who your customers are…….

The more you give, the greater my understanding and the better the end result.

I need something written by tomorrow morning! Can you do it?

Yes! If I can help, then I will. It may cost a little extra if it is really short notice or will involve unsociable hours.

I need lots of content for my website, but my budget is tight – can you help?

There are many people about that will supply content for ridiculously low prices. If you aren’t bothered about the quality, then go for it.

Just be aware that you are very likely to receive content that is poorly written, may contain glaring mistakes in punctuation, spelling and grammar, and could well have been copied from elsewhere on the internet. In the long term, search engines and people will be put off by this type of content.

Remember that anything your company publishes online reflects back on your business. If the content that is supposed to increase your business is of poor quality and unreadable, what does this say about you?

Will your SEO copywriting get me to the top of Google’s page ranking?

Optimised content will increase website traffic and web rankings. If the right keywords are targeted you will get positive results.

However, for maximum effect, overall listings can only really be increased by using the whole toolbox of methods together

(see SEO section for information on SEO Copywriting, Social Media & Link Building).

Beware of ‘experts’ making guarantees of top 10 success. Unless you are operating in a very small or unique market, very often the techniques used to achieve these results may be underhand and will upset the search engines.

The only guarantee is that by featuring interesting, well written and useful content you will be offering something valuable and trustworthy to your visitors.

The search engines find quality very attractive and your rankings should reflect this.

I’m just starting my own business & I don’t have much (any) budget – can you help?

I do try to offer competitive rates and value for money, but I still have to make a living – one option would be for you to draft your own copy and I can then edit and critique it for you. This would be a much more economical way of working together.

While I can build websites and know the elements that go into creating a successful site, my skills are as a copywriter.
